The next Reiki Days are on the

12th October & 16th November 2008

The Reiki days are proving to be both popular and a powerful vehicle for healing work. Something about being in medium sized groups works very well so I have added two further dates before Christmas with a maximum number of 10 places being available in each. The Reiki day provides an opportunity to spend a day focusing on your own healing journey in a one day Reiki workshop. So for those of you who are always giving there is the space to concentrate on yourself for a change and for those of you still learning a place to polish your skills. The day is very relaxed and will consist losely of connecting to the energy through a variety of Chi exercises, connecting to our own process through the Findhorn angel and blessing cards and the four wind cards and exchanging healing treatments. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your own personal healing journey or your healing practice from myself and others and to simply reconnect to old friends or make new ones.

The Reiki day is open to anyone who has practiced Reiki one through to Master level and costs £50 per person.

Places are limited to 10 people per Reiki Day.

Defining qualities of Reiki:

Practised by transmitting healing energy through the hands
Passed on through the initiation process from Master to Student
The healing energy is not guided by the practitioner but guided spiritually.
Reiki is not based on belief, faith or suggestion.

The healing art of Reiki is a practice that restores balance and harmony within the body by the transmission of healing energy through the hands of the practitioner, bringing relief to a wide range of physical, mental and emotional sufferings.

Reiki is a Japanese word that translated means God Light Energy. It is best split into two for us to understand its true meaning. The first part REI is directly translated as God or Light. It is used to describe the whole of creation, every cell, every blade of grass every stone ,tree, animal, human, every planet and star. It goes further to also describe the Creative mind of God. So an accurate interpretation of this word REI could be; ‘All That Is’ both in thought and form. In our comprehension of Rei ,we see that their is a natural order to everything in Creation and there is an underlying intelligence contained within that Creation. This intelligence can be seen from a single cell knowing its function in relationship to the whole, right the way through to the Universe itself.

The second part of the word KI; is the name given to the vital energy that is used to animate & give life to this Creation. This energy also known as Chi or Prana, can be seen as an ocean that surrounds the physical Universe and everything in it. This Vital Energy as its name suggests is fundamental in that it provides us with the Vitality we require to maintain our health, balance and well being on all levels, physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually

The Journey through Reiki

Our journey through the three levels of Reiki represents an unfolding awareness within us. Our journey starts with the first level attunements, awakening us to the realization that we are part of a loving intelligent universe. This realization, whether experienced as a gradual awakening or as a thunderbolt shaking us from a deep sleep, is paramount in our healing journey. It represents the healing of the separation that we have felt at the depths of our soul from our spiritual home. Dr Usui spoke of Reiki as a vehicle for healing the soul of Mankind and to me this healing occurs by reuniting our self-developed personality, our ego, with our universal self. When we realize that we are so much more than all the trials and tribulations that we create to verify we exist, we are able to relax into the arms of our universal self, just as a small hurt child curls into the safety of it’s mothers embrace. In so doing, with a huge sigh, we let go of our investment in staying hurt. This separation from our spiritual home is reflected in our fragmented relationships with the outside world. Abandonment, loss, bereavement, hurtful relationships, conflicts and fear of expressing our truth, all stem from this simple and deep knowing that we are lost. Reiki 1 then is the seed that is planted within us, for us to awaken inside of reality and begin to explore and navigate in this world as a living breathing universal consciousness.

As we then embrace this very simple truth, our orientation becomes one of personal responsibility. Reiki two offers us the tools to self reflect and modify our default settings. As we realize we are not the programmed thoughts, feelings and ideologies that we have inherited as patterns of behavior. It becomes an adventure and a challenge we wish to undertake to break down these limiting patterns. Reiki 2 gives us the tools to do this. Through focusing on the emotional/mental symbol we can break down emotional and mental habits and bring stillness to turbulent waters within. Through the distant symbol, we can retrieve lost and fragmented parts of ourselves. By bringing them back into the present, they no longer create tensions within us by exerting such a gravitational pull from the past. This leaves our futures clear for us to co-create the lives that are right for us, rather than continue to create the lives full of suffering and pain that we have been accustomed to and unaware we have the power to change.

The universal symbol is given to us as a reminder that we are woven miraculously out of the seven elements. That we are, a universal consciousness, clothed in physical form. The world we live in is made up of these same elements and so we are reminded of the beauty, the balance and the power of creation in everything we touch and see. We are taught the connection to our elemental selves. We learn to honor this connection by drawing this symbol into our environment, through the 4 directions, taking time to ensure that our inner and outer world is harmonious.

Our self-healing eventually brings us to a place of serenity within. This has it’s own energy signature, a tangibility that radiates outwards into the world from deep within us. It draws people to us like moths to a light. They do not understand why they are drawn but they are drawn nonetheless and so begins the next level of Reiki, completing a wheel that began when we too were drawn to the light without any understanding.

Reiki three gives us the ability to sow the very same seed into another that was once sown in us. The wheel of fortune is then complete, because you are the link in an eternal chain. This then is the phenomenon of Reiki. It asks nothing of you other than a willingness to participate. It blesses you by showing you who you are and then it humbles you by working through you to bless another.

I welcome you to the grand adventure
